Manic Monday!
It's Monday... and it's time for:
I had 2 people link up last week! Thanks Brittany and Laura! I hope to have some new people this week! If you feel your Monday just wasn't manic enough, feel free to link up later in the week! :)
I've been telling you that my parent meeting for winter cheerleading is today. Only an hour and a half til it starts! I'm crossing my fingers and toes that everyone shows! (see that rhyme there?) It REALLY helps answer questions and concerns...it is also a requirement! I've noticed I'm a little early to the game on my meeting compared to other coaches, but we always hold our tryouts in the spring, whereas other sports have theirs right before the season...so I'm fine with being on top of things! ;)
I had to make tons of copies for it! Calendars, contact info, sign in sheets, blah blah! TOO MUCH PAPER!
I hope the schedule doesn't change...it is always a pain to make changes to calendars when we create them in March. I only had 2 changes to make for the updated one I'm passing out, which was pretttttty good considering school contracts seem to change all the time.
The kiddos were pretty good today. Mondays are always off because of our change in special time. They're hard at work on their pen pal letters! We're sending them off to Kansas City where a friend of mine teaches 3rd grade, too! They will get them just in time for our Red Ribbon Week Celebration! Is your school doing anything fun for the week? My building has asked several high school clubs and teams to get some high school students to volunteer each day sporting the attire for the day. I'll have 15 cheerleaders next Wednesday helping kiddos get out of their cars, with breakfast, and in classrooms until 9 AM! I know my girl students are gonna LOOOOVE it! The cheerleaders are AWESOME with kids, so it will be fun for all!
We usually have Library Skills on Monday afternoon, but the librarian was gone...so PERFECT time for us to finish our cursive skeletons! Check out this cute things! It was a lot harder to explain to 3rd graders than I thought, but some of them turned out WONDERFUL! Most of them you can't make out their name, but that's okay! They still practiced their cursive skills, had fun, and have awesome pictures to be displayed for conferences and Halloween! :) Check out some examples... (I'll rotate them later) Can you see any names?
Today wasn't too manic...but this week is! Red Ribbon Week starts Wednesday, tomorrow we have bus evacuations, conferences start Thursday, and Friday we have an assembly! Talk about a lot of interruptions! Whew...good thing I have my grades done and I don't have to grade anything RIGHT away! :)
I hope you'll link up below!
My best friend teaches in Abilene, KS and she did that skeleton thing too with her 4th graders!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I live in KC! :) I actually teach an hour south of KC but I live in Overland Park! AND I saw you were from Iowa----> I grew up in Iowa! What a crazy connection!
