Listening- Not exciting, but truthful, haha!
Loving- We all love 3 day weekends!
Thinking- I hope I don't waste this extra day. I've felt really lazy this weekend. I have accomplished zilch!
Wanting- I usually skip out on breakfast...I know, I know...horrible! But I may have to eat something before I head over to school!
Needing- I know, it's Labor Day, but this girl needs to get some work done! I had to leave school immediately Friday to take cheerleaders to the football game, resulting in me grabbing nothing to work on over the weekend! YIKES!
<3LOVE YOURSELF- 1. As a new teacher, it's hard to give yourself time. I feel like I have to do everything ALL the time. I need to try to say, "no" more often. 2. Between my schedule and his, the only time we see each other is at night, when I'm exhausted. I think we need to make a date night each month. I see him every day, but I miss him! 3. This goes along with number one...I take home WAY too much at night. I know with time, I'll start taking home less. I think that's the hardest part as a new teacher and/or switching grade levels. You have to do lesson plans for everything! You don't have anything "stored away" from previous years that you can pull from. I need to learn that it's okay if not every lesson is WOW! and it might be okay for kiddos to do an occasional worksheet? (Ugh, that pains me just typing it!)
Well that's that folks! Make sure you head over to Farley's blog to link up! I LOVE seeing everyone's currently! So much fun!
Don't forget about the giveaway! Check out yesterday's post for the details on THAT! :)
I wish I could get into school today today.. boo!!! Happy Labor Day! Coming over from Oh' Boy 4th Grade.

You're So Sharp!
You've got the right idea...Being a teacher (new or veteran) is about balancing school work with LIFE. :) I always try and schedule a few hours on the weekends for school work so you still get time to relax but also so you feel prepared for the week! Enjoy today!!

Finding balance your first year can be really hard. Don't be too tough on yourself. Make sure to give yourself time and spend time with your boyfriend. Learning how to say "no" can be really hard, but it is worth it! Good Luck!

School, life, and such can be so hard to balance! Which is why perusing blogs & Facebook is happening now instead of lesson planning. LOL! I need to get on it!

I know what you mean about making more time for yourself. I think teachers sometimes are the worse at this. I definitely could use some work in this area too! Thanks for sharing.
